Malvern 25th Anniversary Ball

In 2006 Malvern Cricket & Social Club Inc. celebrated it’s 25th anniversary with a ball which was held at the Crown Plaza in Toronto. It was a memorable evening for the club members to reach such a milestone.Guest Speakers to commemorate this event was Deputy Chief Of Police Mr. Keith Forde, and The Honourable Glynne S. Murray, Barbados High Commissioner.

Malvern continues to have their annual events which include a Spring dance, a Mother’s Day Brunch, where the male members honour the ladies by preparing and serving a special meal while presenting them with a rose. There is also a Walk-A-Thon held on the eve of Father’s Day Family Day Picnic at Milliken Park in Scarborough. Sponsoring this annual Walk-A-Thon are The Scarborough Women’s Shelter and The Sickle Cell Association of Ontario. In addition various events are schedules including bus trips, karaoke/pot luck and games night, an annual Fall Awards Dinner & Dance, and a Church service. A children’s Christmas party is held prior to a Members Christmas Party.

Malvern’s cricket game schedule is held during the months of May to September where they compete against other teams such as, Toronto Police, Scarborough Progressive, Markham, Pickering, Montreal Cavaliers, Sussex of New York, Pioneers Cavaliers of Barbados, Windsor, and The Caribbean Cavaliers Of Toledo Ohio.

The President’s Eleven game and the Percy Cummins game are two special annual games. The President of the club selects eleven players from any of the above mentioned clubs to play against Malvern, and the Percy Cummins games are played in memory of the late Percival Cummins of The Toronto Force who died in the line of duty.
